The Management of table toppers in the ongoing 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League season, Plateau United Football Club of Jos, on Thursday warned that it will not hesitate to sack any player who fails to justify the salary they are earning.

The warning was given by the General Manager of the Club, Pius Henwan, during a brainstorming session between Management, Technical crew and players held in Jos.

Henwan said, “The era of Monkey dey work Baboon dey chop is over; as such everybody must work hard to ensure that the set target of the club this season is achieved.

He maintained that the Club is poised to play continental next season, therefore, indolence would not be condoned in the team.

“As such every player registered by this team this season must work to contribute his own quota in realising the dreams and aspirations of the Club.

The General Manager who praised the resilience of the team in picking vital points away from home, challenged them to win the outstanding league fixtures against Enugu Rangers and get a triple away match bonus.

He pointed out that, “as an ambitious team interested in playing continental football next season, you must strive hard to beat the best in the Nigeria Professional Football League in order to realise this target.”

Henwan stressed that as the mid-season approaches, efforts are being made to strengthen the team by registering some few players to fortify the team areas of weakness after dropping underperforming/ unproductive ones.

Responding, Captain of the team, Golbe Elisha, appreciated the Management for the various motivation packages put in place this season and called for its sustenance to enable the club attain its objectives of playing continental football next season.

Plateau United who surprised bookmakers by taking the league by storm are currently topping the table with 32 points from 17 matches.
