FIFA President Gianni Infantino, has said that President Donald Trump’s new migration restriction could prevent the US from winning the offer to have the 2026 World Cup.
Infantino expressed this while talking in London on Thursday.
He made it clear that any nation wanting to have the World Cup must be available to every taking an interest country.
Trump has restricted residents from six Muslim countries from going to the US and with arrangements to grow the World Cup to 48 groups, the request could turn out to be a lurching stock.
“With regards to FIFA rivalries, any group, including the supporters and authorities of that group, who meet all requirements for a World Cup need access to the nation, generally there is no World Cup. That is self-evident,” Infantino said.
“Mr. Trump is the leader of the United States of America and all things considered obviously [I have] immense regard for what he does.
“He’s in control, together with his administration, to take choices that are best for his nation. That is the reason he has been chosen. On the planet there are numerous nations who have bans, travel bans, visa necessities etc”, he said.
Infantino included: “We are currently during the time spent characterizing the offer requirements. The prerequisites will be clear. And after that every nation can settle on up their choice, regardless of whether they need to offer or not in light of the necessities.”
